I am Mackenzie Pope and Welcome to Kakes by Kenz! I’m so happy you are here!
Baking has been a passion of mine ever since I was a little. Some of my earliest favorite
memories growing up are making sugar cookies at Christmas time with my mom, using my
Grandmothers recipe.
I made my first wedding cake for my Uncle when I was a Senior in high
school, and Kakes by Kenz was born. Through out college I made cakes and cupcakes for family
and friends as a side gig to earn a little extra money. After graduating from Oregon State in
2012, I started working full time and Kakes by Kenz was put on the back burner.
Flash forward a few years, I got married to my wonderful husband, gained an awesome stepson
and had two beautiful little girls. Amid the craziness of having littles at home I was searching for
some sort of creative outlet. In the Spring of 2019 my best friend encouraged me to make
desserts for a wedding vendor show she was putting on, and Kakes by Kenz was born again.
Valentines Day 2020 I did my first sugar cookie pre-sale, and it has been a whirlwind of orders
ever since.
I have loved every second of this adventure and cannot wait to see what the future holds for
Kakes by Kenz! Thank you, to all of you that have ordered and have been in my cheering section
from the very beginning. You are the heart of why I do what I do, and I couldn’t be more
grateful!
